Twitter highlights

by Tracy Davis on February 25, 2009

I’ve been using Twitter regularly for about a week and a half now, and it’s been…. interesting. I still haven’t got the knack of initiating 120-character “conversations” with total strangers, but I’m intrigued by the possibilities of this technology.

As I’ve been looking for common ground with other Twitterfolk, I’ve found several who blog about interior design, architecture, or decorative arts-related issues that I’d like to share.

Interior Design Bruce (InteriorBruce on Twitter), “Interior design ideas from a man’s perspective”. Bruce says, “It’s hard to say what I might find attractive, but I will post about it, and you can bet that if I like it other men probably would like it too.”

Then there’s The Urban Lifestyle blog by Twitterer UrbanDecorSue, a fabulously-curated selection of objects which is eclectic yet somehow cohesive, and a very visually appealing blog.

Ouno Design blog (ounodesign on Twitter) is written by a couple of designers from Vancouver who blog about the history of objects and design, why things are the way they are, and how they got that way.

The Inspired Room (theinspiredroom on Twitter) has lots of color and pattern along with great roomshots – really does show inspired rooms.

Last but certainly not least is Andy Marshall (fotofacade on Twitter), is an architectural photographer with a fabulous blog and online portfolio. His absolutely stunning images are helping to feed my almost insatiable hunger for all things Gothic. But it’s so much more than that, and the addition of historical and architectural context to Andy’s excellent eye/lens really make the images come alive. Not that they needed any help.

I hope you enjoy them too.

I also follow @fotofacade and second the opinion that his work is a delight to see!

Thanks to you and Jo-Anne for your kind words about my website. Equally, you both offer some wonderful products and resources that I think need shouting from the roof tops :)
